A Better Life Lived Posted on December 9 by About KiraOctober 1
Here are some inexpensive toddler Christmas gift ideas that will allow them to use their imaginations, teach them valuable life skills while they play, and keep them entertained. All while keeping you from breaking the bank.

Toddler’s are so easily entertained. Yet we buy them endless amounts of gifts that have buttons, buzzers, lights and music. They wind up, glow, and move on their own. Why? It’s completely unnecessary. Most of these gifts cost at least $30 and lots cost well above $50. There are so many things that little ones love that cost significantly less. So if you’re interested in stretching your Christmas budget and providing that baby of yours some exciting, engaging gifts, I’m here to help. Here are some inexpensive toddler Christmas gift ideas that will allow them to use their imaginations, teach them valuable life skills while they play, and keep them entertained. Start a Thanksgiving Tradition of Gratitude!

A Better Life Lived Posted on November 11 by About KiraOctober 1
Want to slow down and bring more meaning to your Thanksgiving holiday? Start a Thanksgiving tradition of Gratitude!

Thanksgiving is the perfect time of year to ponder what we’re thankful for. Around the country, kids will discuss what they’re thankful for in school. But at home, we often overlook the importance of gratitude during the season in which we should be feeling it most. That’s why a Thanksgiving tradition is a great way to slow down and express gratitude with your family. Traditions like these can add meaning back into the holidays and teach our kids to be grateful. (This post contains affiliate links.) Our Thanksgiving tradition wasn’t planned. The first year I celebrated Thanksgiving with my husband’s family, everyone went around the table and said what they were thankful for. I was a little surprised and unprepared, and super nervous … More…

Kids Music that Won’t Drive You Crazy

A Better Life Lived Posted on October 25 by About KiraOctober 1
Kids Music that won't drive you crazy

Before having Zach, I was dreading the day when I would get stuck listening to awful kids music. You know the kind I’m talking about. The kind that gets stuck in your head, but not in a good way, and has ridiculous lyrics. Why does music talk down to kids? It’s like someone, somewhere, said, “Kids music won’t sell unless it’s about one of these five topics, is super repetitive, and uses no more than 25 different words per song.” Some of it is okay, but most of it is enough to make anyone over the age of five lose their minds. Especially if you’re trapped in a car with it or your kids play it on a constant loop. My … More…

10 Healthy Toddler Approved Snacks for the Whole Family!

Healthy, toddler approved snacks for the whole family!

Here we are at our final day of toddler approved meals! Today isn’t about actual “meals” but rather healthy, toddler approved snacks. Since we’re always on the go, snacks are a critical part of our day. Little toddler bellies don’t always hold very much and the several hours between meals is just too long for them. As such, we always have snacks on hand for him while we’re out and about. Snacks aren’t just important for him. Since we’re trying to eat healthier, stopping for snacks or fast food is just not a good option. In addition to the health factor, it’s much more costly to stop for snacks. So I like to always try to make sure I have … More…

10 Healthy Toddler Approved Breakfast for the Whole Family!

A Better Life Lived Posted on September 29 by About KiraSeptember 20
healthy toddler approved breakfasts for the whole family!

On to round three of healthy, toddler approved meals! So far we’ve covered dinner and lunch. While those are definitely the more complicated meals, finding a toddler approved breakfast can sometimes be a challenge too. Eggs are pretty much my go-to breakfast food for myself and it works for Zach, too. Still, I felt like I needed to expand his horizons. I want him to continue to be adventurous with food and willing to try new things. If I don’t continue offering up new options, he’ll lose that willingness to try. Breakfast is difficult in its own right because there is a small group of foods that are generally thought of as breakfast. Toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal. That pretty … More…

10 Healthy Toddler Approved Lunch Meals for the Whole Family!

A Better Life Lived Posted on September 28 by About KiraSeptember 20
healthy toddler approved lunches for the whole family!

Welcome back! It’s time for round two of healthy, toddler approved meals. Yesterday was all about dinner. Today we’re going to talk toddler approved lunch. I don’t know about you, but when I’m home with Zachary or packing lunch for work, we never eat the same thing. I prepare a bunch of stuff in advance for him and then scarf something down myself. Usually, I don’t eat until after he’s done. That way, I can use the time while he’s eating to do some quick dishes or other tasks in the kitchen. More often than not, it’s some kind of sandwich, salad or frozen pizza, none of which he can have. Sometimes, I only grab a handful of crackers or … More…

10 Healthy Toddler Approved Dinner Meals for the Whole Family!

A Better Life Lived Posted on September 27 by About KiraSeptember 20
healthy toddler approved dinners for the whole family!

Having a toddler is difficult; they’re messy, chaotic, super-active, fussy, and picky. This is especially true at meal time. It’s hard enough making sure that the food winds up in their mouths and not on the floor, in their hair, or fed to the dog. But it’s even harder to make two separate meals; one for them and one for the older members of the family. And finding toddler approved dinner, lunch, or breakfast can be a challenge for sure. That’s why this series is going to go over some of our favorite toddler approved meals, and we’re starting with dinner! It’s time to eat together! In our house, we make sure that we create healthy, meals that the entire … More…
