How to throw a Jurassic Park Birthday Party

A Better Life Lived Posted on June 13 by About KiraFebruary 12
Do you have a little one that loves Jurrasic Park or dinosaurs? Here's how to throw an awesome Jurassic Park birthday party with little time and money!

My four-year-old son has never seen Jurassic Park. Sure, he’s seen a few scenes, in bits and pieces, but never the whole thing. Not even half. And he doesn’t have a dinosaur obsession like some kids do. He doesn’t even have a big interest in them, really. So when his answer to “What kind of birthday party do you want?” was a Jurassic Park birthday party, I was more than a little surprised. This post contains affiliate links. How You’ve Changed and Grown: A Letter to My Son

A Better Life Lived Posted on May 30 by About KiraFebruary 12
I learned to trust myself and my son this year, through how much he's changed and grown. I know a lot of you will definitely be able to relate.

But more than that, I’m just so amazed by how drastically you’ve changed and grown over this time and also how much we’ve changed and grown together. Especially in the past year. At the beginning of age three, you were struggling in daycare to the point where they decided that they could not manage to handle you. They thought you were autistic. I cried in the director’s office as she told me warning sign after warning sign that they saw in you and threw information at me. Shortly after, … More…

What I’m Grateful for- May 2017

A Better Life Lived Posted on June 9 by About KiraApril 8
Take a moment to be grateful and appreciate the little things in life. Realize that those little things are the big things.

I can’t believe it’s June!! Where did May go?? 2017 is flying by. Before you know it, it’ll be time to do my second quarterly update on my goals for the year. May was an amazing month with lots to be grateful for. I figured out some things with the blog that are helping me to move forward. I was stuck for a little while down a wrong path for a little while. May 31st was also my last day at a job I wasn’t happy at. And to top it all off, my beautiful boy turned 2! I can’t believe it’s been two years since he was born. The time goes by so fast. May also brought with it the … More…

Grateful Living- December 2016

A Better Life Lived Posted on January 3 by About KiraApril 8
Grateful Living December 2016 Take a moment to be grateful and appreciate the little things in life. Realize that those little things are the big things.

So often we get stuck in the day-to-day hustle and forget to acknowledge what’s really important. Unanswered emails clamor for our attention, deadlines and “to-do” lists clutter up our minds and steal our attention. As a way to temporarily silence these outside distractions, I like to look back over the past month and remind myself what is beautiful in my life. I try to identify three things that have happened in the past few weeks that I am grateful for … More…
