Grateful Living- February 2017
February was so busy and just flew by. I started some brand new training with EBA so that I can improve the blog which was so exciting. The hubby was still working some overtime making for some long days. And we FINALLY got together with family a few hours away to celebrate Christmas! Only two months late, but whatever.
Why a monthly grateful living post?
So often we get stuck in the day-to-day hustle and forget to acknowledge what’s really important. If someone were to ask “What’s most important to you?” we would be quick to respond with things like family, friends, being a good person, and so on. Unfortunately, we allow ourselves to get sidetracked a lot and temporarily “forget” our priorities. Unanswered emails clamor for our attention, deadlines and “to-do” lists clutter up our minds and steal our attention. As a way to temporarily silence these outside distractions, I like to look back over the past month and remind myself what is beautiful in my life. I try to identify three things that have happened in the past few weeks that I am grateful for and recognize them. I remind myself that these are what make up my life and have value. And for them, I am grateful.
Let’s get into what I’m grateful for this month…
3 Things I’m Grateful for in February
- My husband’s supportive nature.
Last month, I mentioned that I might have a potential new opportunity that I couldn’t talk about. It’s a good thing I didn’t because it didn’t work out, unfortunately. It would have been really great and I was really excited, but it just wasn’t meant to be, I guess. I was very disappointed and discouraged, but Andy was encouraging and uplifting as usual. He won’t let me stay down for long. - Early Spring Weather!
I live in Wisconsin. For those of you who aren’t extensively aware of our climate, there really is only one thing to say. In the Summer, it’s hot and ridiculously humid, and in the Winter, it’s freezing cold, snows a lot and the air is dry. It’s really quite awful and one of the worst climates, in my opinion! Fortunately, this year has been really, really mild. We only had maybe two snowstorms (I think I shoveled once this winter?) and the weather only dropped into the negatives for about a week or so. With that, has come an early Spring. It was 60 degrees for two days two weeks ago and it looks like it will be near there again this week. Being able to take a family walk in the middle of February without being cold AT ALL is truly a blessing! - Elite Blog Academy started.
I’ve been waiting for the EBA course to start and it finally did at the end of February. I’m barely into the course yet, but so far I think it’s great. I already knew a lot of the larger picture things I’m learning, but it’s teaching me how to fine-tune and hone in on trouble spots. Some of which I wasn’t even aware were trouble spots! It’s going to be a lot of work and take quite a while to complete, but I’m confident it will be worth it.
What are you grateful for in this past month?
